Guidelines for Avonite Finishes

Avonite Countertops from Express Countertops

Avonite Surfaces sheets are delivered to Express Countertops with a factory finish. The final finish desired must be specified to us as Matte, Satin, or Gloss. Each of these finishes requires different steps and techniques to achieve and maintain.

Avonite Surfaces Matte Finish

This is a sanded finish and is easily maintained. There is no sheen with a matte finish.

Avonite Surfaces Satin Finish

This finish is achieved by sanding with finer grits and gray ScotchBrite^™ and is easily maintained. A satin finish has a low to medium luster.

Avonite Surfaces Gloss Finish

This finish is achieved by polishing the surface after sanding. Gloss finishes have a high sheen and reveal the full depth of the color. Using dark colors with a gloss finish should be avoided for high use areas. The gloss finish is typically applied in limited use and wear areas and is thus not recommended for most residential applications.
